- Modified the init files for RPV and USC for Multishear.
- Hooked up two stations on the new SLIP router. Had to figure out the
pinouts for the RJ45 to DB25 adapters.
- Installed Perl software libraries on ehzsouth for Lisa.
- Hooked up ehzsouth to the UPS and installed the UPS power-management
software. Started testing this, but stopped after the UPS twice shut off
the power to the computer. Need to contact the UPS vendor to find out why
this is happening.
- There was a problem on the FDDI that crashed Carizo and Ojai.
- Recabled the 63 subnet in the computer room. This removed it from the
thicknet cable, so the entire subnet is now on a 24-port Cabletron 10base-T
hub.
- Wrote up documentation about the wiring of the RJ45 to DB25 adapters for
the SLIP routers.
- Investigated some printing problems with the Color printer.
- Made arrangements with Paul about moving things in the basement storeroom
to make room for the 9-track tape drives.
- Set up Terra10 as the new Trinet internal web server. Set up accounts
for use by Dave Wald's shake map.
- Finished removing all machines from the old 66-net thickwire.
- Assisted Nick with updating the Trinet web page on Sunday after the M4.8
San Bernardino quake.
- Set up a web page for use in creating earthquake commentary and special
event reports for the Trinet web page.
- Installed Solaris on a new Ultra-5 for use as node wacke. This will be
part of the real-time system.
- Rebooted Tejon and Ridge for monthly maintenance.
- Upgraded Netscape on the unix machines to version 4.06.
- Cleaned up disks on iron to free up some space.
- Got Netscape version 3.0 for the VAXes.
- Created some accounts on ehzsouth for the Menlo Park people to use.
- Got quotes for additional memory for spring.
